Treating guitars like commodities is probably not the healthiest way of approaching a tool with which the player ideally connects on some level. So, most of the guitars were: quick inspection, quick play, does it work? Cash and out the door. That generally meant that there is only the one guitar there, take it or leave it. Speaking for myself, I've bought almost all my guitars through the classifieds / craigslist / etc.
